The Best Disney Tours To Take

By Mark Russell

Disneyland and Disneyworld are two of the most recognizable brand names in the world. Children everywhere dream of one day taking a vacation at one or both of them. But there are extra things that you can do beyond the usual at both of these parks. There are fun, exciting, and enlightening Disney tours that you and your family can take that allows you to take a sneak peek behind the curtain and see how things really work behind the scenes.

Disneyworld in Orlando is more than just one park. It is a series of parks, and you can tour some behind the scenes areas of each and everyone. Many people love to see what happens behind closed doors, but most come for the chance to see the giant underground utilidor tunnels that allow workers to supply restaurants and attractions with food and merchandise.

Animal Kingdom is another park in Orlando, and it features lots of animals form around the world, including elephants. You can take the Caring for Giants tour to get less than 100 feet away from these magical animals, which is much closer than the average park guest gets.

Star Wars is a big hit with both geeks and mainstream fans, both of whom will love the Stars Wars Guided Tour, available at Hollywood Studios. There are multiple live shows, which you will get special reserved seating for. An original film, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi will also be screened, and kids 12 and under can undergo a fun Jedi training program and get fed a themed meal as well, plus other activities.

A lot of families take a long weekend or a full week in order to have enough time to see each and every one of the Disney parks in the Orlando metro area. But if you want a much quicker peek, you can go on the Ultimate Day of Thrills VIP tour. The VIP part is quite important here, as you get a private tour guide who sees to all your needs for the entire day. They will even ride the rides with you if you would like, and then happily escort you across Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

When in the Anaheim, California area, you can take the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour, which gives you a historical view of the park and how it came to be what it is today. Then eat from the Jolly Holiday Bakery, which is famously located at Main Street USA. Before you go, make sure to get your collectible pin.

Many families from out of town stay at the Disney resort, and if they do they can get the special Resort VIP package, which includes your own personal tour guide who will take you to both California Adventure Park as well as Disneyworld itself. You also get lots of other values, such as priority access to let you skip the line at attractions, and a PhotoPass for unlimited picture downloads throughout the day for your memories.

Walt really loved trains, especially his personal parlor car, called Lilly Belle, that guests do not get to tide. That is, unless you take the Grand Circle Tour, which allows you to ride in this car. You also get access to special collectibles and a snack.
